Okay. We should all feel for Rory Stewart. And before you say “who is Rory Stewart” let me explain that he’s an MI-6 adjacent, USAID funded, bloodless and wealthy globalist homunculus. His wife runs an NGO. King Charles III created it. It’s called Turquoise Mountain. It does nothing useful anywhere at all1. This NGO just lost its next $1m installment from USAID. The many-thousand-tentacled “foreign-aid” pipeline of your tax dollars keeps guys like Stewart extremely well fed.
So as I said, we should all feel very sorry for this man. His racket is drying up. It’s always sad when that happens.
Keep that in mind as you read this thread he whined on X yesterday:
Some impressive spin to seduce the weak-minded or already entranced among us. It’s important to understand that all those flowery words and harsh accusations boil down to this: nations don’t have friends. They don’t really even have allies. They may say they have both. That’s called diplomacy.
If you’ve ever listened to diplomats speak you will notice that, in most cases, they don’t say anything. Their job is to soften edges. Make nice. Say pretty words to each other in the hopes that their nation can gain advantage while making the other side feel like they’re gaining advantage or doing the right thing.
Rory Stewart knows all of this. Rory Stewart will never crack. He’ll never admit any of this. Well, now that I think about it, we could get him to admit it if we use some of that enhanced interrogation his ilk get paid to excuse.
Nations have interests not allies.
If you’re not fully convinced just recall that “building alliances” and “foreign aid” consist of taking money from poor people in the USA and giving it to rich people in rich and “poor” countries. I put poor in quotes because here are some of your tax dollars hard at work in war-torn Ukraine:
This young man, Yevgeny Fomin, is the son of this woman:
He’s not fighting on the frontlines right now because he got a disability classification from the Odessa Medical Commission. Instead he’s sticking your tax dollars up his ass.
The windy and highfalutin verbiage from the Rory Stewarts of the world really boil down to this: graft and waste for the least-deserving people on earth.
I wish it wasn’t so. It would be nice if we could simply give and give and never have to pay it back and also be sure it all goes to the most deserving. The US has sent countless dollars to hundreds of nations since WWII. These dollars wind up in the bank accounts of oligarchs, dictators, and tens of thousands of creeps like Stewart and Fomin.
I used to give to Catholic Relief Services (CRS). They are one of the most sophisticated and efficient charities on earth. They go everywhere to help. Unfortunately they are now part of the illegal immigration pipeline feeding fake refugees into North America and Europe.
So the next time someone tries to cast a spell of guiltiness on you remember you’ve beefed up your magic resistance, they are trying to pick your pocket, and you can just walk away.
I saw a thread with several middle-aged ex-military. One guy said he was crying and hitting his steering wheel in anger over Trump and Ukraine. Numerous "was this what we fought for?!!" comments. I didn't have the heart to say we actually lost Afghanistan and arguably we haven't fought a defensive war since 1812.
The reality is we are in a painful downscaling of a lot of sunk costs, policy and institutions that never should have been allowed to advance as far as they have. Among other root causes has been the US Congress's failure to govern on behalf of the American people.
Translation of Rory’s whining (and I LIKE him) and every other Atlanticist whiner:
“But since we were 20 years old our CIA handlers told us as long as we repeat whatever they told us to say, we would be the special people, the prison guards of their ideological empire. But now the orders have stopped and the money has stopped and we don’t feel special any more! Wah wah wah!”
